CALL FOR POSTERS

California Climate Change Symposium

The California Energy Commission Public Interest Energy Research Program invites researchers to submit proposals for posters for the 6th Annual California Climate Change Symposium. The posters should be for new or on-going research projects addressing climate change research activities in California or the western United States. Examples of potential topics include: climate monitoring, analysis, and modeling; improving greenhouse gas inventory methods; options to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and impacts and adaptation studies. Please feel free to share this invitation with others.

The poster session will be held on the second day of the symposium, Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at the Sacramento Convention Center from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

All poster presenters are expected to be present during this time. To submit a poster, please e-mail the following information to Sarah Pittiglio at the California Energy Commission at [spittigl@energy.state.ca.us] before August 24th, 2009:

  • A proposed title for your poster.
  • A brief summary/abstract of the project that will be presented on your poster (one page maximum).
  • Your name, e-mail address, and current phone number.

We will notify you by e-mail regarding acceptance no later than August 27, 2009. If your poster is accepted for presentation, you will receive further guidelines designed to help improve the effectiveness of your poster presentation.


GENERAL POSTER GUIDELINES

Poster Content:

  • Brief and clearly organized.
  • Simple, with an obvious theme.
  • Easy to read from 4 to 6 feet away.

Poster Dimensions:

  • The poster board surface area is 3'8" high and 7'6" wide (approximately 110 cm x 230 cm).
  • Illustrations, labels, etc., must be attached to the poster board with thumbtacks, which will be available in the poster area.
  • Do not write on the poster boards.
  • Please leave space in the top portion for a title sign.

Poster Set-up and Removal:

  • Set-up on Tuesday, September 8, 2009
  • Remove on Thursday, September 10, 2009, by 5 p.m.
